This tree was planted here many moons ago. The whomping Whillow was used to protect a werewolf by the name of Remus Lupin on the nights of the full moon. Many try to avoid the Whomping Willow now because the tree can get quite dangerous if someone gets near it. Hogwarts will not be responsible for any injuries to yourself if anyone goes near the tree.
